The Waco-McLennan County Public Health District is excited to announce that their District and Community Services campus is Tobacco-Free!
The Waco-McLennan County Public Health District, City of Waco Municipal Court and Parks and Recreation departments care for the health of McLennan County residents. For this reason, the campus bacame Tobacco Free on May 1, 2014. This policy does not allow tobacco products of any kind to be used on the campus at 201 and 225 W. Waco Drive which includes both the Municipal Services and Waco-McLennan County Public Health District buildings and all adjacent parking lots.

A one-year community-based program designed to enable adults
to make lifestyle changes that will improve their overall health and
reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

The FDA has been working on a diabetes initiative to remove from the market illegal products, including some labeled as dietary supplements that claim to mitigate, treat, cure or prevent diabetes and related complications. The agency recently warned 15 foreign and domestic companies that the sale of their illegally marketed diabetes products violates federal law.
